That day, Club Brugge was supported by ADO Den Haag and Royal Anwerp by Willem II.

The first problems began already in the stadium where supporters of Club Brugge & ADO Den Haag tried to get to the fans of Royal Antwerp & Willem II, but nothing big happened. Later, after the match, the police clashed with fans of Club Brugge & ADO Den Haag. Result – 120 arrested, mainly fans of ADO Den Haag. Three people seriously injured, one policeman got a brick in the face.
