Manchester City – Manchester United 02.11.2014, United hooligans attack City pub

Manchester United hooligans attacked City fans infront of pub full with “blues”.

Police made just three arrests at the derby clash at the Etihad.

Police General Officer says they spent months ahead of United and City’s first clash of the season gathering intelligence to prevent fans coming to blows.

Senior officers revealed they had between 350 and 400 officers on duty, including mounted police, dogs and the police helicopter patrolling the ground.

Police say they were also keeping a close eye on around half-a-dozen suspected hooligans who had completed football banning orders and were now free to attend the match.

A group of United ‘at risk’ fans were stopped by police at The Cemetery Metrolink Stop in Droylsden ahead of the match, 12 were found not to have any tickets and issued with dispersal orders.

The remaining eight people were escorted to the match by police.

Police made just three arrests inside the ground with one man arrested for a racially aggravated disorder and two men arrested for setting off flares.
