England: The 21 teams with the worst-behaved fans in terms of arrests so far this season

With crowd problems seemingly on the increase here we identify the clubs, whose fans have been the worst behaved so far this season in England.

21. Tottenham Hotspur – Number of fans arrested so far this season: 37

Spurs have already faced London rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham in the Premier League so far this season, games which traditionally bring about a lot of problems for the Metropolitan Police.

20. Derby County – Number of fans arrested so far this season: 37

It has been a season of mixed emotions so far in the Sky Bet Championship for the Derby County faithful, which may explain why some of them have been taken in the police station for questioning.

West London is supposed to be a cultured part of the capital, with polite and law-abiding citizens, yet the Cottagers have racked up 40 arrests this season, in what has been a good start to the Championship campaign.

The Blades are doing everything they can to be amongst the big boys again and look a good choice for promotion from League One, some fans are a bit too enthusiastic about the club’s fortunes though.

You can hardly blame Leicester City fans for being over-excited after the year they’ve had. From Premier League glory to a dismal defence fo their title, coupled with Champions League success, the Foxes need to keep their emotioins in check.

In nearby Nottingham, Forest supporters are equally guilty of being picked up by the local police. With their Championship campaign not exactly going to plan so far this season, it is easy to understand their place in this list.

11. West Ham United – Number of fans arrested so far this season: 46

Some may be surprised that the Hammers are this low down in the least, considering the reputation of their infamous firm, the ICF. A late defeat to bitter rivals Spurs last week will not have helped with the morale in East London.

The bitter disapppointment of reaching the Championship play off final last year, only to lose to Hull City, may still be having an effect on some of the Owls’ supporters as seen by this statistic.
